Today's the 5th B-day of the DGB. I thank you all and ramble about other things in the following video...which is the antithesis of actually "blogging" but you get the point.

Oh, and since it's the birthday of the DGB, I feel an appearance by resident Site Girl, Keira Knightley is in order. You're welcome.

Well it's "Bye Week 2007." For those that are die hard Dawg fans, it's a break that we both hate and love.

So with that in mind, here's this week's List:

The 10 Things You Can Do On Your Bye Week:

10. Pretend you care about other schools -- Now's a great time to look at your buddy who graduated from South Florida and say "How 'bout them Bulls, huh?" Hopefully said buddy is your "boss" who will give you a promotion shortly thereafter.

9. Grill some chicken -- Gameday equals "red meat." It's the Bulldog way. So take this week to eat a little healthier. Or just skip all the charcoal and go to Chick-fil-A.

8. Sleep in -- Gameday isn't quite as much fun to watch when you're begging Corso not to pick us to win. So, go ahead and skip setting the alarm. All the good games start around 3:00 PM anyway.

7. Finally wash your Gameday clothes -- Look, football players are the only ones that are supposed to have the superstition of not washing their uniform, socks, jock strap, yadda yadda yadda. Go ahead and wash your Gameday boxers, shirts, khakis, socks, etc.. The people around you will appreciate it.

6. Drink some water -- As opposed to "alcohol." Your kidneys and liver will be very grateful.

5. Do some research -- With Florida coming off a Nat'l Championship year, UGA coming off a bye week, and UK being ranked, you need to arm yourself with stats to combat your Gator co-workers during "Hate Week 2007 Part I." Stock up on stats and use every one to your advantage next week, but DO NOT TALK SHIT. It will come back to haunt you.

4. Catch up on your DVR list -- So you haven't watched "Grey's Anatomy" since the season premiered because Thursday night is football night. First, understand that it's OK that you watch "Grey's Anatomy" ("Private Practice" is a different story, though). Second, do something about it and unleash some TiVo fury.

3. Go on a Halo 3 bender -- Dude, release your inner geek that's been screaming ever since you bought the game. I know that football has taken precious time from your "killing sprees," but now's the time to catch up and get your melee on.

2. Google Keira Knightley photos -- Yeah, this only really applies to me. Here's a great one I found:

You're welcome.

1. Start your own blog -- They've been popping up all over the place this season. It's the internet version of "hugging it out" when things aren't going well. Might as well fold to the peer pressure and write your own stuff for people to make fun of, right?

Well, there's your List for this week. Announcement on the site changes soon.

Until next time kids.

Be safe.

Saturday, August 25, 2007
Well, ok. So you want a Vegas post? I guess I'll just write it then.

WARNING: THIS IS AN EXTREMELY LONG POST.

On August 8th, 2007 I took a much needed break from the "real world" to relax, lose a ton of money, see some old ("new") friends, hang out with Beer Blog Pong This (hereby known as Ru$$) and Stacy G., and drink a whole bunch of free liquor. Here's what happened.

August 8:

Worked all day long and then had a friend take me to the Atlanta airport. I checked in fairly quickly and barely made the standby cutoff to hop on a plane bound for the land of lights. It should be noted that I don't like to fly, and I didn't have time to tie on a good buzz before take off. However, the plane got in the air and I got quasi-comfortable with my surroundings (but didn't sleep a wink).

I landed in a blisteringly hot Las Vegas at 20:45 PST meaning it was already past my bedtime and I was exhausted. I met Stacy G. in the hotel lobby of the Excalibur where we were staying (see: "cheap and with a food court"). A quick trip to the Pizza hut Express followed by dropping $40 in blackjack and I was ready for some sleep.

August 9:

I met Ru$$ at the Sherwood Cafe as he was finishing his meal and then caught up some about his previous activities in The Vegas. He took a much needed nap while I went to go visit The Luxor and buy a present for my 15 year old female cousin, who thinks Criss Angel is the best thing ever. She got a book.

Pictures for proof:

Criss Angel's necklace that confirms "Rock Star" iclonic status.

Criss Angel's first chopper.

Criss Angel's second chopper.

After The Luxor trip it was time to head back to the hotel, eat some lunch, and do some gambling. I played a little video poker, Let it Ride, and Blackjack. $100 was lost, but I was ok with that.

Ru$$ woke up and we formulated a gameplan. He had passes to Moon, Rain (even though Rain was closed), and GhostBar over at The Palms and we were going to do the "Vegas Club Scene." I said "let's do it" and we figured we'd start drinking around 17:00 PST and just see where the night took us.

We headed down to Dick's Last Resort to cash in those "buy one get one" free beers that were presented to us at check in. We watched Warner Robins make the leap into the Little League World Series, talked some politics, and decided it was dinner time.

Sir Gallahad's Prime Rib Eatery Place (not the real name) was the choice for the night. Aside from the incredibly cheesy name of Sir Gallahad's, it was GREAT prime rib. I'm sure there is better to be found in Vegas, but for the modest price, it was a very good cut and flavor of meat. I truly enjoyed it. We stepped outside the restaurant and heard this piece of music lust:

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed that and are supremely jealous, Song Writer.

After eating, the decision was made to get ready and be prepared to go out to the clubs at 22:00 PST. We changed clothes (I did twice because jeans were not a good choice) and took a taxi to The Palms. We decided to hit the Playboy Club first, then bounce over to GhostBar for the view, and finish up at Moon.

Let me start off by saying The Palms is a fantastic hotel. I was very impressed with its simplistic layout, the fact that it's not completely on the strip, and the amount of young people there. It screams "I'm laid back, but young and want to party," which is exactly the way I felt for my vacaction. It's definitely on my "must stay at this hotel" list. So after arriving at The Palms, we went to the Playboy Club. Again, I was VERY impressed by the classiness of the place and the staff (security as well as bartenders) was second to none. Very friendly and very professional.

Pictures for proof:

The entrance to Moon and The Playboy Club.

The Liquor Shelves at the Playboy Club.

After walking around the Playboy Club, we went back downstairs to finish our drinks and go to GhostBar. We played a quick game of Pai Gow Poker (so I could learn) and then caught the elevator to GhostBar for the view. I liked the layout of the place (it was a little too "blue" inside for me lighting wise), but I don't know if anyone goes there for anything but the view out on the balcony. Here's what I'm talking about.

Pictures for proof:

This is a picture of the Rio and the south end of the strip.

*The north end picture turned out pretty bad*

This is the Palms Fantasy Tower. The very top is Moon and just below that is the aforementioned Playboy Club. If you look closely below the "Palms" sign on the front of the tower, you can see the Playboy suites with the pools that go out into the open air. Very cool.

So we left Ghost Bar and headed over to Moon. I was blown away by the club experience there even though I'm not a club person. If I were to be a guy looking to get laid on this trip, this is the place I'd go. It was too dark for pictures inside, but trust me, the place is insane. Everyone was dancing and partying. It was like nothing I'd seen before.

August 10:

We left The Palms around 01:00 and thankfully arrived back at the Excalibur with our lives intact. The cab driver we got was named Steve and he was from Israel...and he damn near killed us 50 times. The dude was out of his mind insane and was zipping in and out of traffic. Thank God I had a buzz at this point.

Once inside the Excalibur, we hit up some Let it Ride and I learned to play Craps. Craps is a very fun game, but you can either win a lot of money or lose a ton of money. I ended up doing both, so I pretty much broke even.

Flash forward to 09:00 PST and I'm hammered and playing Pai Gow Poker while trying desperately to get sober. Ru$$ has wisely gone to bed but I've drank for over 14 hours straight and I need a break. Finally, I take one, go to McDonalds to get some Hotcakes and Sausage, and go to bed.

When I woke up 3 hours later I was too hungover to do anything. I was paying the price for what I'd done. I watched some TV, ate some lunch, blah blah blah and then got ready to go to the Hard Rock Hotel so me and Ru$$ could meet up with Chris H., Aaron, and Mel S. The idea was to hang out, catch up, and watch their new 48 hr. Film Project piece called "9:1." I got to Hard Rock and realized this was probably going to be a short night for me. As soon as we sat down at The Pink Taco, I was told by everyone around me to just take the night off and that they understood.

Picture for proof:

NOT PICTURED: The Delta "puke bag" in my back pocket because I didn't trust myself to make it to the bathroom in time.

So, after leaving the Hard Rock, I went back to the hotel and slept...12 hours.

August 11:

What would seemingly be my last day in Vegas was reserved for sightseeing and other "touristy" type stuff. Ru$$ and I hit the Vegas Outlet Mall and didn't buy anything, and then headed over to the shops at The Venetian.

Two things: 1) I say "outside shops," but they're actually inside. 2) I recorded this for my roomate, Jeb.

I also ran into two famous people:

Being a ladies man myself, I had to get a picture of Jimmy Choo. Adored by women across the world.

Resident site girl Keira Knightley was proud of my choice to hang out at The Venetian.

We walked around, again didn't buy anything, checked out the "Blue Man Group" theatre, and then headed back to the hotel. Being the last night in Vegas, we were going to pack up the hotel room, get ready for the evening, hit the buffet, catch the Bellagio Water Show, and gamble some before bedtime.

After all the packing, eating, blah blah blah stuff was done, we saw this:

For the record, we played it better. PLEASE pay attention to the bassist in the background. That comedy writes itself....and it sounds like I have a lisp, but I don't.

Then, we caught a cab ride to here:

and saw this:

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to catch the water show when it plays "Claire De Lune" famously known from "Ocean's 11." One day I'm just going to camp out and wait.

We headed back to the Excalibur and I feel in love with the Monopoly slot machine (and I hate slots), then went to bed.

The next morning I woke up, was F*CKING EXHAUSTED, and took this picture for proof:

DAMN...

After getting bumped from the first flight, I caught the 13:00 PST one, FINALLY slept on a plane, and landed safely in Atlanta around 19:30 EST. The one problem? Delta said they had my bag in custody since I flew on a buddy pass and that I needed to go to this shithole to get it:

Please note the people you see sitting down watching television at the end includes the lady WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP ME FIND MY BAG. Was I frustrated? YES. Could I do anything about it? NO.

F*ck Delta.

Anyway, so there's my extremely long Vegas post. I hope you enjoyed it. I'll be back in a few days with some new stuff and expect the first installment of "The List" on Thursday.

Until next time kids.

Be safe (and f*ck Delta).

P.S. -- Special thanks to Ally who kept reminding me that planes don't crash that often.

So for the past few days I've had ideas for a blog bumping around in my head like my cranium was having one helluva house party....or a severe case of ADD. Either way, I've had a good idea, lost it, had another one, lost that one, and then got pissed off.

What I decided to do to rectify that is basically to blog and just blog whatever the hell comes to mind. Here it goes...

Um......
I could talk ab....nah that sucks.
And there's....shit.

Ok I got something:

A blatant picture of Ann Coulter just to piss off Doug who spent most of his 4th of July post trying to somehow get America back into the UK. I like you Doug, I really do, but sometimes you just don't make much sense. I'm trying to shock you back into reality just like psychiatrists use shock therapy. So say hello to Ann...

Image stolen from a site that hates Ann Coulter...and wants to bang her.

However, I need to give props to Doug who introduced me lately to the INCREDIBLY HOT Melissa Theuriau.

I'd be so much more informed if we had news anchors like this....

And, of course, here are a couple of more distractions just for your viewing pleasure:

"Transformers" hotness Megan Fox.

One reason Jack Bauer will kill me...Elisha Cuthbert.

Blazing hot "red head" Kate Walsh.

And finally...

Site girl of the century, Keira Knightley

Well, guess who hasn't been laid in a while?

Anyway, moving on to sports, there's been a lot of hooplah lately over at the Georgia Sports Blog about Mark Richt and Company recruiting out of state kids and ignoring in state talent...well, that's not what PWD said, but some guy that commented on the post. I had plenty to say about it over at the site, and I'm kind of spent on it, but I just want to make it perfectly clear that Mark Richt and Co. are completely dedicated to winning a national championship. Hell, if he finds the kid that can help us in Alaska, I say go get his ass. Stop bitching about it and let the kids play.

The King has ranked our toughest games on the 2007 schedule. I'm pretty much in line with what he's thrown down, but I have a few differences that I will explain at a later date. It's a good read though, so go check it out.

And finally, please everyone let the Munson thing go. Yeah, it sucks about as much as it can, but the man just can't do it. He's doing the best he can with what he's got and I hope every Georgia fan buys a headset to listen to him in the stadium this year. I also hope they give him the proper send off he deserves. He is the best...period.

Until next time kids.

Be safe.

P.S. -- Go see Transformers right now. It's worth it. Trust me.

I quasi-felt like blogging today so I thought I'd throw down a quick hit or two before I neglect my corner of the internet for the next couple of weeks.

  • Saw "Pirates of the Caribbean 3." Don't waste your time or money.
  • The Dawgs have been pulling in recruits left and right. This year's class is shaping up to be a top 5 so far. Be sure to check out Dawgbone.net and GSP for all updates.
  • I'm still sober.

Alright there you have it. Of course any mention of "Pirates of the Caribbean" means I have to post a stunning photo of resident site girl Keira Knightley.

Well, it's no secret that I've had a little bit of bad luck with the Scion tC (aka "The Batmobile"). I loved the car, it treated me really well, never broke down on me, and was great on gas.

As many of you have probably already noticed, I used past tense speech in the last paragraph.

Well, that's because it's time to introduce you to "The Deuce."

I went home to Perry this past weekend and while I was there, I found it necessary to get The Batmobile serviced. While I was there, I spoke to a gentleman named Mike Bsh0p, who was kind enough to show me the 2007 model tC. Now, I know what you're already thinking, and the answer is "no, I didn't do something stupid."

But yes, I did buy a new car.

You see, I did a little research on the current value of my vehicle and compared it to the price of a new car. Even after the deer incident, The Batmobile held a pretty good trade-in value and I figured with 77,600 miles (f*ck you Cle@r Channel), if I could get into a little bit better of a car for a little bit more money, I'd do it.

So, with that, I present to you Scion tC Version 2.0 aka "The Deuce":

Now, if you're thinking "It looks just like your last car," then you'd be exactly right. The only true differences between this car and the last is that it is in new condition, and it's blue. In these pictures it looks a little purple, but trust me, it's blue...bright blue when the light hits it just right.
So, there you have it. Let's all join together in welcoming "The Deuce" to the family.

Until next time kids.

Be safe.

P.S. -- Since I haven't done it in a few days, I present to you a completely irrelevant photo of Keira Knightley.

Well, it came and went and we got a few answers to some key questions. However, in the spring, nothing ever really shakes out like it's going to in the fall. All it really does is let the UGA fans evaluate some new names, see some UGA Football, and give them an excuse to talk about the upcoming season.

Ten things we learned from G-day:

1. Stafford is going from being a good QB to a great one. -- The kid's arm is a damn cannon, his decision-making ability is ten-fold what it was this time last year, and he speaks like a leader. All this, and the kid is only 19 years old. I really think he's the kind of talent that is going to bring other talent to Athens that will help us win a National Championship by 2009.

2. Kris Durham has the tools. He just needs the body. -- I think we all know that KD has some primetime play-making ability, he just needs to beef up some. I would've liked to have seen him with about 10-15 more lbs on his frame, but he showed that he can break tackles, make tough catches, and even throw the ball when necessary. He is becoming a very solid option for us.

3. Our Defense has a long way to go. -- Look, let's just call and spade a spade. We looked weak out there on Saturday. It's true. While I know that on days like G-day we purposefully only bring the blitz maybe 10% of the time, we still have players that are way inexperienced at a lot of positions. The positives include a lot of depth in the secondary and some solid vocal leadership. The negatives include missed tackles, blown assignments, and a lack of a pass rush without bringing more than four guys at a time. We have to get better here, and I believe we will.

4. Knowshon is as good as advertised. -- There's a reason why he has been the talk of the tailbacks since he arrived last year. The way he cuts and, as The Song Writer put it, "makes himself thin," he is going to be a very big weapon for us. I think Richt was sending a message to him via TV when all they kept talking about was his inability to pass block. That will come along with time and a greater understanding of the offense. I really like what I saw out of the kid. Honestly, I wish that Thomas Brown wouldn't come back this fall so we could have a Lump, Knowshon, and Caleb King (if he qualifies) backfield. There's no sense in rushing TB if we're already deep. We'll need him next year.

5. We do not have a punting game. -- The race to replace Ely-Kelso is on and it's not going incredibly well. I know that Coutu is lobbying to pull double duties, but there's no need in wearing out his leg in games where we might need a 50+ yarder FG from him. If our offense should stutter (and it inevitably will at some point...that's just football), we'll need good field position and right now, we won't get it.

6. Willie Martinez is just trying to fire up his kids. -- As I said earlier, it doesn't make for a very exciting G-day when the QB is getting touched every other play and can't get anything going. Our defense held a lot back last Saturday and for all those that are freaking out; don't. We're going to be fine, as long as we bring the blitz. As soon as Ellerbe gets out of the dog house (if ever), he is our guy to be the 5th pass rusher. Just wait and see.

7. We're very deep at WR. -- Sean Bailey looked really good, MoMass did his thing, Chandler looked solid, and it's only going to get better. They have found a way to work Mikey Henderson into more offensive sets and I think Bobo is taking advantage of a great QB and a deep WR corp. Speaking of which...

8. The days of having to explain UGA highlights are over. -- Mike Bobo is ready to make ESPN on a regular basis. By going to a four WR set, we're looking to throw more deep balls and take advantage of number 7's arm strength. The Song Writer and myself agree that running a trick play at the beginning of the game is a hint of what's coming. Will we always see that kind of trickeration? Hell no. But we are willing to take more chances. Hopefully the days of explaining to your buddies how great that deep bomb was are coming to an end. Your buddies should now be coming to you and talking about how we made the ESPN Top Ten.

9. Hines Ward is still a Dawg. -- I got a little fired up after Super Bowl XL when Hines Ward said "Hines Ward -- College Park" instead of "Hines Ward -- University of Georgia." I understand that where he is from makes his jump all the way to the NFL that much more impressive, but I also know he wouldn't have gotten there without a little help from his college alma mater. Some disagreed with me (namely PWD), but it did bug me just a touch. However, he helped out a LOT on Saturday with his great prescence on the sideline combined with a great interview during halftime. Big ups to Hines Ward. Welcome back to my good graces...even though you never really left.

10. David Pollack is going to be just fine. -- I've had the pleasure of meeting one of the nicest incredibly cocky guys in the history of all the people I've met. I played Xbox with him and Greene a couple of times and he is a really good friend of a buddy of mine that still resides in Athens. He is an all-around good guy and it's great to see him doing so well after his injury.

**BONUS**

Since we haven't seen or heard from her in a while, Keira Knightley has decided to swing by the site for a much needed appearance.

Keira gets a kick of out "Step Three." Image from Keirapictures.com.

Well, there's your highlights. Any agreements/disagreements?

Until next time kids.
